This study [3], titled “Empowering Defenders: How AI is shaping malware analysis,” demonstrates the crucial role that AI plays in combating cyber threats, especially as they become more sophisticated [1].


The study analyzed hundreds of thousands of malware samples over a six-month period and found that AI was able to identify 70% more malicious code fragments compared to traditional techniques alone. This showcases the effectiveness of AI in detecting and addressing cyber threats. Additionally, AI was up to 300% more accurate in detecting attempts by malicious scripts to exploit common vulnerabilities [2] [4]. This increased accuracy allows for the prioritization and addressing of potential threats, enhancing cyber threat defense. The study also revealed the growing trend of cybercriminals using AI to create malware disguised as artificial intelligence products [3], exploiting users’ trust [3].
