Canada and Japan have joined eleven other signatories in adopting the Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy, and the Rule of Law, a legally binding treaty aimed at establishing comprehensive legal standards for AI systems while addressing human rights and democratic principles.
