DSIT
The Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT) is the UK government department responsible for science, innovation, technology and digital policy. It leads national programmes on research and innovation (through UKRI), telecoms and network security, AI and data policy, and consumer IoT security — including the Secure by Design regime and the Digital Security by Design challenge.

Relationship
DSIT (and its predecessor DCMS) shapes the policy environment for NQM’s IoT and network-security work, and supports related national delivery programmes.
NQM developed ManySecured with the University of Oxford Cyber Security Centre, Cisco, the IoT Security Foundation and BT — detecting and protecting against IoT vulnerabilities on the router and the network. The IoTSF ManySecured Working Group supports the UKRI Digital Security by Design challenge and the Secure Networking by Design (SNbD) project (with the University of Oxford, NQM and TechWorks). DSIT is the contracting authority for the TrustNetz future-telecoms work.
